Phillppe Huang
Phillppe is an alumnus of the first cohort of the YLL–NTU Talent Program. During his doctoral studies, he collaborated with the UK-based nonprofit organization The Brilliant Club, working to support underprivileged students and help address inequalities in higher education.
This experience later connected him with another nonprofit organization, AccessED NGO. In 2022, Phillppe was appointed as a volunteer consultant and introduced The Scholars Programme model to Taiwan for the first time. The program pairs scholars—such as PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and professors—with economically disadvantaged students to provide tailored academic enrichment.
Phillppe’s partners at the time were National Chung Cheng University and several high schools in the Yunlin–Chiayi area. Among the 11 students who joined the pilot program, 9 completed their final projects, 7 passed the assessment and earned certificates, and all participants showed a significant increase in motivation and confidence in applying to universities compared to before the course.
